MTA Bus Time App Reviews

While the maps interface may not be the best, this app allows you to quickly access your frequent bus lines and see them (and their direction) in real time. This was exactly the app I was looking for. Could be a little sleeker, but the functionality of this app is amazing.

The app worked fine for me until recently. Now it is giving me an error all the time. I tried restarting my iPhone and reinstalling it but neither worked. The quality of this app has gone downhill

I cant scroll down sometimes when I click on a bus route

I set bus lines and bus stops as favorites which work for a while but app seems to forget them after a couple of days of not using the app

They basically took a 5 star (well, 4) website and turned it into a 1 star app. It is incredibly useful info locked into a terrible and unusable app. With the mobile website you can get to the info with basically a tap whereas here it is much more confusing. Strongly recommend sticking to the mobile web experience for now.

The new feature to center the map to the current location is super annoying. If I zoom the map out to see how far away my bus is, and then refresh, the map zooms back in and centers on my current location. Not cool. Before this added "feature" I would have given the app 4-5 stars, no longer so...

The accuracy of bus arrival time is about 50%. Many times it will say a bus is approaching the stop but it ends up being the Limited Bus going by that doesnt stop there.

Ive deleted this and reinstalled but still does not work. Constant error messages requires shutting iPhone all the way off and on again to see real time data. Hate this.

Wrong information, need to either fix it are just delete it

This app would be great if it didnt wipe my favorites every month or so. I take a few different routes, and so wiping out my favorites is not helpful.

I rely on this app every day. It has saved me a lot of time and frustration and is more accurate than "Transit", which seems to only know what ought to be happening, rather than what is. My main complaint about MTA Bus Time is that it periodically locks up while showing an error message that the internet connection is faulty. It never gets working again once it is stuck on this error. The only way to get it functioning again is to delete it and download it again. I have had to do this at least five times in the past 6-8 months.

Pretty much useless for express buses in the evening below Canal St. I have informed the app team several times in the last six months and either they cant fix it right now or they dont read support emails. Lots of potential here. If the experience I have in the AM in Brooklyn (by and large extremely accurate) could be replicated in Manhattan its a 4.5 star app in my opinion

Whats the point of the star/favorite function per bus line if it always deletes by the next day? This app is also always crashing. Good idea and would be a great app if it actually worked well.. But it doesnt.

It would be nice if they could add two features: (1) Push notifications when a particular bus nears a particular stop (E.g., "An X27 bus is approaching Barclay Street.") (2) A text-only view of all the buses in a particular line (like on the web app)
